Privacy Policy
Last updated 7 November 2026
This policy explains what Vicetok collects, why, who helps us run the service, and how to delete your data. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
What we collect
- Sign-in. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an account ID and, if you share it, your email address and name. Apple may give us a private relay email instead of your real one. As a guest, you get an anonymous ID with no name or email.
- Profile. Your handle, display name, bio and profile picture.
- What you post. Clips (video, thumbnail, caption, category, tags), comments, questions and answers.
- What you do in the app. Likes, saves, follows, votes, and which clips you watch and for how long. We use this to rank the feed and count views.
- Safety. Reports you send or receive, and the people you block.
- Notifications. If you allow push notifications, a device token from Apple so we can send them.
- Technical data. IP address, device and app version, and error logs, kept by our servers to keep Vicetok running and secure.
We do not access your contacts, location, microphone or photo library beyond the videos you choose to post.
Why we use it
- To run your account and show your content to others.
- To build your feed and show counts like views and likes.
- To send notifications you allowed, such as replies and new followers.
- To keep Vicetok safe: review reports, enforce our Terms, stop spam and abuse.
- To fix bugs and keep the service fast.
- To meet legal obligations.
What others can see
Your handle, display name, bio, profile picture, clips, comments, questions, answers and follower counts are public to anyone using Vicetok, and clips, questions and profiles can be shared by link. People you block cannot see your content, and you cannot see theirs.
Who helps us run Vicetok
We use these providers. They process data only on our behalf.
- Google Firebase for sign-in (Apple, Google and guest accounts).
- Cloudflare to store and stream videos and thumbnails, and to host this website. Videos go straight from your phone to Cloudflare.
- Microsoft Azure in the United States to host our servers and database.
- Apple Push Notification service to deliver notifications.
Your data is stored and processed in the United States. If you live elsewhere, we rely on our providers' standard contractual protections for that transfer.
We may share data if the law requires it, to protect people from harm, or as part of a merger or sale of Vicetok, in which case this policy continues to apply.
Deleting your data
Delete individual clips, comments, questions or answers at any time. To delete everything, go to Profile, then Settings, then Delete account. This permanently removes your account, profile, clips and videos, comments, questions, answers, likes, saves, follows and device tokens, and revokes your Sign in with Apple connection. Videos are removed from our video host within 24 hours; the rest is removed shortly after. Encrypted backups are overwritten within 30 days. We may keep a minimal record of reports and bans when needed for safety or legal reasons.
Copies of your content that other people saved or shared outside Vicetok are outside our control.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it. Most of this you can do in the app. For anything else, email us and we will reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Age
Vicetok is for people 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child is using Vicetok, contact us and we will delete the account.
Changes
If we change this policy in a significant way, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
